Responsibilities:

·  Oversee project Design Associate production,consultant coordination and design implementation for new projects, remodelsand acquisitions based upon design direction of the Corporate Architectaccording to the Company's policies and requirements

·  Directly responsible for maintaining,understanding and implementing brand partner expectations and requirements forall Brand Partners where Pilot Flying J is Franchisee.  This includes coordination with the CorporateArchitect for the design of corporately owned facilities that include the brandpartner's branded portion of the facility in both New Builds and Remodels

·  Assist in the implementation of new projectinitiatives for Operations, Marketing, Food & Beverage, Restaurants andBranding as directed by the Corporate Design Manager / Director of Design

·  Maintain drawings standards, details andprocesses in order to produce the required construction documents under the directionof the Corporate Architect according to and consistent with the organization'smission

·  Consulting Engineering coordination andimplementation of equipment and systems supporting the intended design and useof all designed facilities - Serves as the Main Point of Contact for designrelated issues resolution (Refer to Design Associate responsibilities) for allConsulting Engineering Firms

·  Provide support and assistance to the CorporateArchitect in Codes Analysis and Plans Review responses in the effort ofobtaining applicable permits from the Authority Having Jurisdiction

·  Perform Site Investigation and document detailsof acquisitions and remodels to determine feasibility of design implementation

·  Mentor and provide guidance and oversight toDesign Associates related to project design, drawings and ConstructionDocuments bearing the stamp of the Corporate Architect.  This includes quality control review of allwork prepared by the Design Team that becomes a Contract Document for Permit& Construction

·  Model behaviors that support the company'scommon purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highestlevel of quality, responsiveness and results

·  Ensure all activities are in compliance withrules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Pilot Flying J and anyauthority having jurisdiction over Construction projects

·  Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements:

·  Bachelor's Degree in Architecture required

·  Minimum five years’ experience acting as ProjectArchitect / Architect of Record (AoR) in a retail, commercial architectureenvironment

·  Architectural License with National Council ofArchitectural Registration Boards (NCARB) is required

·  Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD andAutoCAD Architecture is required; knowledge of Building Information Modeling(BIM) preferred

·  Extensive knowledge of design principles andstandards, including applicable Zoning, Building and Fire Codes, as well asFederal Laws to include ADA requirements (this includes all codes applicable tobuilding design)

·  Advanced Architectural Design and Detailingskills

·  Advanced and Working knowledge of ConstructionDocuments, AIA Contracts, Specifications and procedures required to completethese documents

·  Working knowledge of building systems, includingStructural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Communication and Fire Alarm andMonitoring systems

·  Ability to blend creativity and practicality

·  Ability to multi-task and manage multipleprojects and activities successfully.

·  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·  Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced anddynamic environment

·  Strong attention to detail

·  Working knowledge of space planningrequirements, including equipment, adjacencies and space requirements

·  Intermediate Adobe Suite, SketchUp (or Equal),Architectural Rendering and Microsoft Office skills
