Join Pilot Flying J as a Corporate Accountant

The purpose of this job is to performthe most complex activities associated with general ledger, financial andoperating reports, and budget analysis.


·   Perform general accounting activities includingthe preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts andfinancial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, andcapital expenditure schedules

·   Prepare, record, analyze, and report accountingtransactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness,accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles

·   Provide financial support, includingforecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget

·   Analyze and prepare statutory accounts,financial statements, and reports

·   Conduct or assist in the documentation ofaccounting projects

·   Perform special projects as assigned

·   Compile, consolidate, and analyze accounting andfinance information to produce financial statements and reports

·   May coach, lead, or direct others’ work

·   Model behaviors that support the company’scommon purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highestlevel

·   Ensure all activities are in compliance withrules, regulations, policies, and procedures

·   Complete other duties as assigned

·   Manage areas including but not limited to PIPadministration, leases, fixed assets, cash concentration, rebate accounting andgeneral ledger management


·   Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required

·   Minimum four years’ experience in accounting orrelated area required

·   Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

·   Familiarity with Lawson or general ledger (GL)accounting software preferred

·   Knowledge and understanding of generallyaccepted accounting principles (GAAP) preferred

·   Strong organizational skills with attention todetail

·   Excellent analytical and critical thinkingskills

·   Strong teamwork, problem solving, conflictmanagement, influencing, and negotiation skills

·   Strong written and verbal communication skillsincluding the ability to communicate financial principles and practices withnon-finance team members

·   Ability to exercise judgment and make decisionsin determining company policies and strategies affecting company financialperformance
